The paramotor certificate is compulsory to fly over French territory. It is issued to French, Belgian, Luxembourg pilots or from other EU countries.

Theoretical exam

A theoretical session of the Paramotor pilot's license is organized approximately every month by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. It is the MosAiles school which establishes your registration file.

The exam takes the form of multiple choice questions (40 questions), dealing with aerology, human factors, equipment, navigation, altimetry and regulations. These questions are common to all ULM classes. It takes thirty correct answers to obtain this first part of the paramotor certificate.

Mosailes school will help you prepare for this ordeal, through courses and advice throughout your training.

This second part of the paramotor certificate is issued by the MosAiles school instructor. It can take place in one session (pontcuel evaluation exam) or in continuous assessment (during a refresher course).

In most cases, count around fifteen training sessions (5 initiation sessions + 10 improvement sessions) for sufficient mastery of the sail, the engine and the environment in which you are going to fly.
A patent can cost you between € 50 and € 1,290. Do not hesitate to call the school for further information..

Paramotor Instructor Certificate:

The paramotor instructor's license is compulsory to teach paramotor and to issue pilots' licenses.

The instructor training follows a protocol approved by the French Federation of ULM (FFPLUM). Allow around a hundred hours of training which will provide you with the theoretical and practical fluency necessary for the training of future paramotor pilots, for risk assessment as well as for the human factors associated with our discipline.

At the end of your internship and a final exam in front of an independent examiner, you will be able to teach paramotor practice.

Being patented for over a year and having a paramotor "passenger carry" qualification is a big plus.

The training takes place in four stages

  1. An evaluation
  2. Initial training
  3. Training under the status of a trainee instructor
  4. A final exam
